We are Astrid Academy of Movement!
A family-friendly gymnastics club, who are passionate about everything gymnastics.
Our aim is to encourage young people to enjoy the sport, grow in confidence, have fun, build fitness & make lifelong friends along the way.
Our coaches are passionate in providing the opportunity for young people in the region, to get involved.
All are welcome at Astrid.
We have classes to suit beginners up to elite levels, whether it's for fun and fitness or to progress in the sport. We are proud to be inclusive and are keen to help those who may be a little shy and need more support and encouragement.
Our gymnastics classes really transform our gymnasts, building confidence, improving fitness and making lifelong friends.

At Astrid we love to give our members the opportunity to explore the World.
We love seeing our members faces light up when they attend events at various places around the country or internationally.
Some of our members had never left Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland & more, until they started at Astrid.
Now we have members that have had the opportunity to travel to Scotland, London, Paris-France and much more!

Developing future coaches. Voluntary opportunities & Qualified opportunities.
Whether you are a gymnast at the club looking to help out in classes and become a Young Helper, or a parent looking to get involved within the club & sport. Here at Astrid we like to open up coaching opportunities as much as possible.
We love to see many of our members, helping out with our younger gymnasts in sessions. It's inspiring for our younger members to be assisted by those still in training.
We also have parents at the club that have gymnasts at higher levels and have really fallen in love with the sport and become qualified coaches.
FUNDRAISING
Always thankful for support via donations or sponsorships!
As a club we are always thankful for any support we get from locals, businesses and companies around the area.
As you can imagine, being a small club based in a school hall we struggle with funds for equipment upkeep, event costs and kit costs.
Some of our parents are supporting us through the charity organisation "Friends of Astrid Academy of Movement", which will really aid our members, parents and the club as a whole, to progress further and support those that could really benefit from further fundraising opportunities.
